Yet another remake of Scrooge? *UPDATED* 6/08/FONT>
by: Jinglebelle
If Robert Zemeckis (The Polar Express) has his way, we'll be seeing Jim Carrey as Ebeneezer Scrooge!
The filmmaker is apparently planning a CG/live-action version of A Christmas Carol with the comedic
actor Carrey in mind for the lead character.
EmpireOnline.com reports in an interview with actor Bob Hoskins(star of Zemeckis' Who Framed Roger Rabbit)
that he has been approached to star in a new version of the holiday classic. Hoskins told Empire, "[Zemeckis is]
going to make A Christmas Carol with Jim Carrey. He wants me to play Mr. Fezziwig."
Hoskins hints that the movie would be made using the same technology that Zemeckis used on
his previous holiday hit The Polar Express. "He's doing in that way he did Polar Express,"
Hoskins says. "You stand in a box with that funny suit on and it reads everything you do...
Am I going to do it? Of course I am!"
ChristmasFlick will keep you updated as new information comes available. Stay tuned...
*UPDATE*
It has been reported that not only will Jim Carey be playing Scrooge, he will also be playing the ghost
of Christmas past, the ghost of Christmas present, and the ghost of Christmas future!
